The WORST thing I have ever had to do!

I took my boy to the MTC and dropped him off never to be seen again by our family for 2 whole years! I feel I have been strong up to this point, but oh my goodness, that was hard. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled he is there, but we miss him!!! We sat in silence and tears all the way home except for when Shandra asked if we could turn around. :(

  1. I have heard that MTC stands for "Mom's torture chamber". Guess that's right! You are so good Denise, and I know Dal is doing great. It's natural to feel sad. You would be a bad mom if you weren't missing him so much, but it will get better, and just remember that this is what Dallas wanted to do! And even more importantly what Father in Heaven wants Dallas to be doing! I LOVE YOU!!!!

  4. It's a very small percentage of people that even for one moment get to be in the perfect place at the perfect time for a perfect purpose; Dallas will be in such a situation for 2 whole years. What an amazing opportunity. I could not be more pleased and excited for him. He's planned for this day since he was first able to utter the word 'mission'.

    I Love you Dal. Dad

  6. Beautiful job on the Blog so grateful to have the opportunity to keep up with this missionary this way. The hole Dallas leaves here is not anything compared to the hole I hope he leaves there when he comes home. There are so many waiting for him, for his message, for his testimony, to hear his deep, deep comforting voice with the message that his Savior lives and loves and knows each person individually. I hope he sings every chance he gets and his voice will hit the hearts with the spirit he has to share. Yes we already miss him so much and will continue to miss him but will delight in his reports. Love you Dallas and Love you Dad, Mom, Shenay, Davin, Denyon, and Shandra.

  7. I don't think this blog is a good idea...here I am blubbering again! Not because he's gone, but because I'm so proud!!! He's going to be a great missionary...or I guess should say he IS a great missionary!

  9. What a lucky young man to have so many people love and support him. He has earned it. I loved what G'ma Zeann said about his deep soothing voice. That is so true! He is going to learn so much, and already knows so much! He will just continue to get more and more awesome!

Good thing you are ripping your hair out busy right now, you are so blessed, or you would be choking to death on tears. Hope something come soon. Love you, am going nuts as well watching and waiting but know all is well.
